SACO is proud to be a part of one of today’s most stunning architectural feats, the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain City, U.A.E. Launching today marked by a three-day festival aptly named The Big Kick-Off, the new 25,000-seat Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium covers an area of 45,000 m2 and is over 50m high, making it one of the tallest structures in Al Ain City.

SACO was selected to develop the stadium’s façade lighting solution. The outer shell of the stadium is comprised of over 600 individual panels designed to resemble the trunk of the palm tree. Each panel is illuminated using a custom version of the SACO Shockwave Video Lighting system. The lighting of each panel can be independently controlled and is capable of displaying different colors and design patterns reflective of special events. Recently the external façade displayed colors re-creating the UAE flag.

Jonathan Labbee, COO of SACO, commented, “SACO designed a custom interface that allows the venue to interact with specific events like goals, halftime, and other events; essentially the video lighting allows the Stadium to express itself by creating beautiful colors, patterns and movement.”

SACO is very proud to have worked with such a great team of professional companies such as Pattern Design, BAM International, and ETA to bring the vision of the Hazza Bin Zayed stadium to life.
