Maison Manuvie, located at 900 de Maisonneuve West, in the heart of downtown Montreal, is a building completed in 2017.  This 27-floor Class AAA office building is developed by Ivanhoé Cambridge and co-owned with Manulife.

Working with artist Lozano-Hemmer on his interactive Colorimeter, SACO adorned the impressive artwork on the wall of the main lobby of Maison Manuvie with 1020 V-Tiles, arranged in a grid pattern with a customized diffused material applied to the front. The perimeter glow is achieved using Shockwave’s V-Stick.  SACO Shockwave V-Sticks come in two sizes, 300mm and 500mm, to cover most installation scenarios. The perimeter used a total of one hundred and two 300mm SACO V-Sticks and twenty 500mm SACO V-Sticks.

This LED media system uses generative content algorithms programmed with artistic patterns that capture images in real time by a camera in the grand hall and then transforms and reinterprets them to bring out the colour in motion.

Project Specs:

  • 1020 SACO V-Tiles custom designed to create this bespoke screen
  • 122 SACO Shockwave V-Stick S products
  • 58 SACO Shockwave V-Brain 1600 products
  • 1 SACO Shockwave Nano Processor
